Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic has officially launched membership negotiations with Albania- a long-delayed step towards joining the bloc.
“EU is your biggest partner for good in your investments. We expect compatibility so that the expansion process is more reliable, more dynamic. In accordance with March 25, 2020, the Council approved on June 18, 2022 the general framework of the extended integration consensus. The negotiations aim at broadening the EU’s approach.
Albania should support and implement all reforms, especially corruption reforms, organized crime reforms, public administration.
We welcome the fact that Albania is in full agreement with EU policies. We welcome Albania’s readiness for membership, we will support you in your efforts and we look forward to you being a member with full rights” – said the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic.
Also, he emphasized the necessity for Albania to be a legal state, where human rights are implemented by completing the Law Reform, the reform in the public administration as well as other similar reforms.
