The employees of the Fier incinerator are protesting, blocking the municipal vehicles that transport urban waste and blocking the entrance to the incinerator. ABC News journalist Valbona Davidhi reports that the employees have not taken their salaries for about 6 months and that the protest will continue until there is a concrete answer.
This is a common situation in the Fieri incinerator.
“Vehicles have been blocked by Fier incinerator employees to transport urban waste. On the other hand, the employees have also blocked the entrance to the incinerator, demanding wages.
Since January they have said that they have not received salaries and after several announcements that they have made that they will protest, they have not been heard and reached this point.
There was continuous contact with the administrator of the incinerator, which was established by the state after the seizure of the incinerator. This situation seems to be repeated, since months ago they faced such a situation, but after some time they received their salaries. It is about a small number of employees, which are around 20 people. The damage caused by traffic jams is huge. They have declared that the protest will continue until there is a concrete answer,” said journalist Valbona Davidhi.
