Earlier, while the last two boxes were being counted, Halilaj said in a statement to ABC News that he thanked the citizens of Kukses for their trust.
“I thank all the citizens for the culture they showed, I promise the vote of confidence that I will represent them decently during four years with work, care and presence next to every citizen.
I am from the area of Kukes, I have worked for years in the administration, I am a simple person, without party affiliation I will be by the side of every resident of Kukës. The first promise I make to him is my presence regarding infrastructure investments. Rama government will be present in every corner of Kukes to improve any problems related to infrastructure.
I have a number of projects to help Kukes regarding unemployment, to develop tourism, to give another promotion to the neglected Kukës,” he emphasized./abcnews.al
