Appellate Court has left this Friday in force the measure of “prison arrest” for elected Mayor of Himara, Alfred Beleri.
Winning candidate of the “Together We Win” coalition for the Municipality of Himara in the elections of May 14, was arrested two days before the elections, as he was caught bargaining for the sale and purchase of votes.
Beleri requested a change in the amount of security granted by the Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, but it remained the same even by the Appeal.
Previously, Beleri was not allowed to take his oath as the newly elected mayor of Himara, while the municipality continues to be led by the former mayor and candidate of the Socialist Party (SP) in the last election, Jorgo Goro.
