Earthquake tremors were recorded a few moments ago in Albania. It is learned that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the village of Mjekës, about 7 km from Elbasan, while the tremors were recorded with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt in several areas of the country. ABC News correspondents report that the earthquake was felt in Librazhd, Përrenjas, Steblevë, as well as in Korçë.
Currently, there are no reports of consequences and material damages. In an interview a few days ago for Abcnews, seismologist Edmond Dushi said that Albania has seismic activity, but that it is not directly endangered by Turkey’s earthquake since our country is not located on the same tectonic plate.
“We are not on the same tectonic plate. We have no direct impact on the Albanian territory. Seismic activity in Albania is present”, he said.
