DP submits the initiative to reduce VAT

The Deputy Speaker of the Democratic Party submitted to the Assembly the initiative to reduce VAT from 20 to 6% for basket products to help citizens. Jorida Tabaku said that such a thing was done by many EU countries, therefore she asked the Albanian government to do the same.

“This is a political initiative that comes to the aid of the citizens, it is not populist, but it is for the benefit of the citizens.

Reducing VAT will help the needy to increase their consumption. Many EU countries have also reduced VAT on energy. “The proposal we have is very simple and concrete,” she said.
