From the Presidency of the Assembly, the Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla welcomed the initiative of the Democratic Party for amendments to the Constitutional Amendments.
According to Ballës, the SP is open to discuss any proposal coming from the opposition, while it also focused on the extension of the mandate of the KPC and the Public Commissioner, saying that this was requested by international partners. Balla stressed that the extension of “Vetting” is a technical issue and according to him can not become a political issue or be related to other proposals of the DP for constitutional changes.
“I welcome this new approach of the opposition with concrete proposals. Discussion is needed and we will look at them carefully. The Constitution has clearly defined the consideration of proposals for changes. I also said the last time for the investigative commission. The Assembly will set up a special Electoral Reform Commission. “Everything will be discussed.”
The full document provided by ABC contains the complete amendments of the Democratic Party for constitutional changes, starting from the vetting of politicians, the Territorial Reform and the Electoral Reform. The DP has drafted a comprehensive package for the purity of the image of politicians, to limit the impact of crime and corruption on them. PD demands change of point 3 of article 45. According to DP, those politicians who will not pass Vetting, will not be able to run. DP demands that the Vetting of politicians be done by a special body of SPAK./abcnews.al
