For the DP, the departure of Albanians abroad has come as a result of the misgovernment of Prime Minister Edi Rama. DP MP Ina Zhupa, in a reaction on social media writes that about 20 thousand fewer students are enrolled in universities. According to Zhupa, most young people choose to leave due to the lack of quality education and life in Albania.
‘The academic year starts with ultimatums for non-education for students who have not been vaccinated. On August 26, during a visit to dormitories, Edi Rama stated that the time may come when students should be forced to be vaccinated. From that moment this statement began to take binding forms from the (political) committee of experts and from the ministry of education and the rectors. Just like during the pandemic where the Facebook logos of the prime minister turned into obligations for the citizens and law enforcement bodies!
Today begins the academic year for all students in Albania! In the second term of Rama’s government from 2017 to 2021, 19516 fewer students were enrolled in public and private higher education.
Most choose to leave due to the lack of quality education and living in Albania, but also the lack of employment in the profession they practice. There are also those who find it impossible to pursue higher education for economic reasons, high fees even in public, lack of scholarships and significant facilities for them.
But even when they graduate in the country, they choose to leave very quickly, where Albania due to wrong policies in the evaluation of professions, conditions and salaries cannot get back the investment made in education. In two years, in 2018 and 2019 Germany have united 2460 diplomas of doctors, nurses and health workers from Albania.

Instead of an awareness campaign, awareness, talk and clarifications with health experts and students in the vaccination auditorium, they choose the threats for not educating the Albanian youth.
Problems created by the law on higher education, fees, student card with many propaganda services, difficulties with online learning, failure of quality scientific research and quality control, status and payments of professors are some of the problems that this academic year of bears as well as those predecessors from a mismanagement and carelessness of all leaders of the Rama government.
As a lecturer but also as an MP, representative in the Education Committee, I wish students and colleagues a happy academic year! I also share with you my commitment to do everything to demand more for your rights, for the development of education and for an autonomous university in the service of students and with honored professors, ” said Zhupa.
