MP of the Democratic Party (DP), Gazmend Bardhi has convened all opposition MPs to a meeting, which will start at 12:00. From the confirmations made so far, Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha gave an answer yesterday and said that he will be part of it.
MPs alongside Bardhi and allies of the opposition will also be part of it. Chairman of the DP, Lulzim Basha and the 10 MPs that support him will not be part of the meeting, but will gather with the branch heads.
Focus of this roundtable will be the coordination of opposition action. Bardhi’s opening speech will be with the media present and then the meeting will continue behind closed doors.
It remains to be seen whether the Bardhi – Berisha cooperation will only be for the unification of the opposition in the parliament, or whether they will go further.
This will be the first meeting within the unification of the opposition, as all previous attempts have failed. It seems that the return of Basha has made it more necessary to unite the other two groups.
At the table are expected to be all the MPs who support Bardhi, those who support Berisha and those who do not support any of the groups so far.
This meeting called by Bardhi is also a gesture to show his power against Lulzim Basha.
