Country President Ilir Meta reacted harshly to the majority which, with 86 votes, decided to change the law for the oath -in members of the Constitutional Court.
At an extraordinary press conference, Meta said he would never accept the law while announcing that he will be personally at the Venice Commission’s meeting. According to him, this is an attempted coup.
“The voting of this law is a mafia action that “Rilindja” is trying to put in the political control of the Constitutional Court. For this law, the majority had invited the Venice Commission two months ago, but he voted without waiting for Venice’s opinion.
This is an insult to the ambassadors and to Venice itself, ”Meta stated./abcnews.al
