Coronavirus, Kryemadhi proposes the plan: From tax deductions to salaries for those who do not work

SMI President Monika Kryemadhi has announced a plan to help families and businesses.

SMI Proposals:

  1. The government should abolish local taxes for all businesses and families starting in March and throughout quarantine period.
  2. The government must guarantee 80% payment for all persons who are employed but cannot work and therefore are not paid due to the closure of the business where they work because of the quarantine, including all practitioners of free professions.
  3. The government must compensate the social and health insurance of the categories of employees treated with 80% of wage.
  4. The government should subsidized all farmers whose crops cannot be sold because of the blockage of transport or the impossibility of securing agricultural inputs and consequently the failure of agricultural production.
  5. The government should subsidized all unpaid student tuition as a liability for the 2019 – 2020 school year.
  6. The government should defer VAT and business tax payments for a later period in estimating the duration of the quarantine, but not earlier than June.
  7. For all those citizens who are registered for assistance as well as for pensioners, the state should assumes the reimbursement of energy and water bills./abcnews.al
