Cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Athens enables the arrest and extradition of a wanted person from Greece to Albania On 20.08.2024, after an intensive cooperation and exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Athens, the arrest and extradition from Greece of citizen Kujtim Demiri was carried out.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana on 06.01.2018, after the Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes, with the decision of 01.02.2010, sentenced him to 15 years in prison for the criminal offense of “Trafficking minors”, provided by article 128/b/2, of the Criminal Code.
According to the decision, citizen Kujtim Demiri took a minor child from Albania to Greece and used him to beg in Greece under the influence of violence. The State Police and Interpol Tirana continue their commitment to bring to Albania and bring to justice internationally wanted persons.
