The Special Court decided this Tuesday to administer the record of the testimony of the former chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Luan Hoxha in the trial for Gerdec where Mediu was taken as a defendant.
Mediu himself objected, asking for a video testimony with him. Outside the premises of the Special Court, Mediu said that it is clearly an attempt not to interrogate him.
For Luan Hoxha, it was decided to administer the testimony given on February 17, 2009, as a defendant. Meanwhile, Mediu’s lawyers and the victims’ lawyer insisted that Luan Hoxha be questioned by letter or via video conference.
But, according to the prosecutor, this is impossible since there is no exact address of his location in the USA. The media requested that the former chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Luan Hoxha, give his testimony as soon as possible, even though he is in the USA. “It seems clear that those who are the main witnesses have not agreed to be questioned.
The Chief of Staff must answer some questions to shed light on the incident. It’s not that hard to find a US citizen’s address.” Anjola Agolli, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, did not appear in this session either. The family members of the latter have said that she was outside Albania. The Special Prosecutor’s Office has carried out verifications in the TIMS system and it turns out that Agolli is in Albania and it has been requested to find the latter for a fax from the time with an inscription “For Shkëlzen Berisha”.
