Sali Berisha in the meeting with the chairmen of the DP also focused on the Open Balkans initiative. He said that the Albanians owe it to the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, who with his stance against this initiative, is protecting the Balkans from the establishment of Serbian hegemony.
“Open Balkan is the highest act of betrayal of the Albanian nation. Albanians owe Albin Kurti, who with his stance, protection from a project that establishes pure Serbian hegemony, from a project which instead of sanctioning cooperation between equal nations, sanctions the humiliation of Kosovo and its hostile siege, by Belgrade, the small Belgrade that is Tirana and others with the most anti-Albanian intention to present Kosovo as the Balkan war.
The Balkan war is Belgrade.”
According to Berisha, the Open Balkans is flagrantly opposed to the Berlin process. He adds that this is not being done without purpose. Calling it a Russian initiative, Berisha said that this statement has already been “sealed” by Lavrov’s statements.
