After the successful test for night missions, the “Bayraktar” drones will soon switch to monitoring function 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as an important supporting element alongside the local authorities in the battle against fires.
Defense Minister Pirro Vengu, accompanied by Air Force Commander Brigadier General Ferdinand Dimo, inspected the Kuçova air base and the drone unit, which has already been filled with qualified personnel.
This unit has already increased readiness even after pilot training for missions in dark conditions. UAV drones have been used for several days in joint operations with other forces in the fight against fires, for a more accurate identification of the outbreaks.
The results of the “Bayraktar” drone images will be key to support the municipalities in the process of identifying the damage caused by the fires.
