The former head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, remembered today July 2, 1990, the opening of foreign embassies in Tirana. In a note on social networks, Basha writes that the Albanians brought down the wall of the dictatorship, in an act of civic courage.
The former chief democrat says that at that time the eyes of Albanians were towards free countries, with the hope of a better life. Basha adds that unfortunately 32 years later, citizens are in the same situation, wanting to flee the country en masse.
The former president of the DP emphasizes that this day serves as a moment of reflection, to face the past that risks repeating itself.
