Although Lulzim Basha resigned from the leadership of the Democratic Party, he chose to return to office less than 24 hours after resigning. In the party yard he faced the December ‘90 group, who for months demanded his departure from the DP.
The leader of the December 90 group, Bislim Ahmetaj, offered himself as a negotiator for a meeting between former Prime Minister Berisha and Commander-in-Chief Enkelejd Alibeaj. In fact, Alibeaj was the first to arrive at the PD headquarters, to go to the office and reconcile the steps he will take in the position of chairman for the unification of the Democrats.
The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, once again asked the Re-establishment Commission to cooperate for the unification of the Democratic Party.
“The party unites when each of us and the suspended members overcome themselves and think of the interest of the DP.”
In his first appearance as party chairman, Alibeaj vowed to do everything to unite the Democrats.
“The union is among the Democrats.”
After the resolution approved in the parliamentary group, the DP expects an official position from the Re-establishment Commission, while the latter will gather on Tuesday afternoon to officially establish the relationship they will maintain with the Democratic Party after the resignation of Lulzim Basha.
