Interior Minister, Taulant Balla held a meeting this Wednesday with the High Inspector of Justice, Artur Metani.
During the meeting, Minister Balla expressed concerns to Metani, regarding some decision-making by the magistrates, in the context of the investigation or trial of criminal offenses against the environment, emphasizing the proceedings in cases of arson.
Moreover, Balla expressed his concern regarding the avoidance in some cases of violent confrontations in cases of weapons-carrying without a permit. On his part, the High Inspector of Justice Metani expressed maximum commitment to the verification of such cases, as well as their priority treatment.
Metani guaranteed that any magistrate who violates the law will be punished, in accordance with the principles and rules of the legislation in force and that any process will be developed in accordance with and respect for their role and independence.
During the conversation, the High Inspector of Justice and the Minister of the Interior shared the will of the two institutions they lead to increase cooperation, emphasizing the need for the exchange of information or data in official channels, on the behavior or concrete decision-making of magistrates, which can constitute disciplinary violations and must be dealt with by the Office of the High Inspector of Justice.
