The mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, has arrived at the Court, where he will be introduced to the security measure. ABC News journalist Ermal Vija reports that the session is expected to start at 11:30 and Judge Rudina Palloi will attend the session.
“Three people have been arrested, including Jorgo Goro, while two people are being sought.
Goro was arrested a few days ago on charges of abuse of office, at least on two occasions.
“Apart from Jorgo Goro, other officials are also accused of abuse of office. The session will start at 11:30. Goro has been questioned continuously. In the clarifications he gave, he stated that he has no legal responsibility regarding the forgery, he stated that as the mayor, he only had the duty to sign the documents. There was no obligation to do the verification”, reported journalist Vija.
According to the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK), Goro, in the capacity of the mayor in cooperation with the Director of the Department of Protection and Land Management, Himara Municipality, without making any concrete verification according to legal obligations, forwarded to the competent bodies completely falsified documents making then possible the registration of an area of 5512 m2 of agricultural land owned by the state, in favor of the private entity.
Also, Goro is accused of carrying out with concrete actions the actual displacement on the ground of an area of agricultural land of 5080 m2, superimposing it on another property owned by the state./abcnews.al
