Interior Minister Sander Lleshaj has introduced the normative act at this Thursday’s session of the Assembly.
In his speech, the minister said that the act was created for emergency conditions, because with the implementation of justice reform, many judges notice that the chances of passing the vetting are low, so they made the scandalous decision to release criminals from prison.
“There have been years of talking about crime, but there is still so much to be done. In the early 1990s freedom was translated as a lack of law and the result was an anarchy and a misunderstanding of freedom.
The whole of society is facing a big challenge and the country needs to address these issues.
For this we have adopted the normative act, not because the EU has required it, but because our children’s future requires it”, stated Lleshaj.
Minister Lleshaj has stated that the normative act has only one objective, the ultimate destruction of crime./abcnews.al
