15 years after the tragedy with 28 victims in Gërdec, Shkëlzen Berisha, the son of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, seems to be facing a new lawsuit, from the new justice. While SPAK decided to send for trial Fatmir Mediu, at that time Minister of Defense, the Special Prosecutor’s Office announced that it has divided the case related to the procedure of the sale of military ammunition.
SPAK has opened a new criminal investigation, regarding the involvement of other persons. The new procedure constitutes concealment of wealth and corruption, an issue for which SPAK has interrogated Shkëlzen Berisha.
With the re-opening of the investigations, Shkëlzen Berisha, the most mentioned in the international scandal of the dismantling of cartridges, was summoned to SPAK a few days ago. He was questioned by special prosecutors regarding this case. SPAK reopened the case of Gërdec 9 months ago, taking action, following the request of the parents of 7-year-old Erison Durdaj, one of the victims of the explosion.
