Minister for Entrepreneurship Protection in the Albanian government, Edona Bilali has spoken this Friday about some changes in the law of Start Ups, underlining that this is an innovation of a very good result of the investment that started last year by the government.
Bilali also spoke about the construction of Start-up agencies, adding that the aim is to increase the effectiveness and shorten the time of disbursement of grants offered by the government.
“Today, we approved the amendment of the law on the support of Start Ups. This serves digital employees, or in other words for employees who use technology to not work from a fixed location, they are moving around the world and working from any location.
Currently there are 100 such and for one year they will have the right not to be tax residents and up to one year they can work from Albania for the whole world. The other change consists in the construction of the Start Up agency, this comes as a new initiative after the benefits we saw from the previous investment.
This year, we aim to increase efficiency and shorten the time of disbursement of grants. We see this target group as efficient with potential in Albania“, said Edona Bilali.
However, the innovative ideas of Start-ups have been added with two new changes which help in adapting employees who work from home. For one year, those who do not work in offices or in fixed locations, have the right not to pay tax residency in Albania.
Any individual who had an innovative idea to set up a Start Up could turn it into a reality through government funding, while very soon they will turn to the Start-up agency and they can also work for a year in Albania without tax residency.
