President of the Republic, Ilir Meta host in a meeting this Wednesday the new OSCE Ambassador to Tirana, Vincenzo Del Monaco, where, among other things, he congratulated him on his new duty in Albania.
President Meta informed he asked Ambassador Del Monaco that the presence of the OSCE should play a more important role in supporting strategic reforms in the framework of the launch of membership negotiations in the European Union, especially in the field of elections, democracy, rule of law.
“I had the pleasure to receive in a meeting the new Chairman of the OSCE Presence, Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco and to wish him success on the occasion of the beginning of his mandate in Albania.
I appreciated the importance of the OSCE for Albania, as the first multilateral organization to which we joined after the fall of communism, as well as its contribution over the years towards strengthening democracy and the rule of law in our country.
I stressed out that the OSCE presence should play a more important role in supporting strategic reforms in the framework of the launch of membership negotiations in the European Union, especially in the field of elections, democracy, rule of law, strengthening of independent institutions, respect for human rights and the fight against crime and corruption,” President highlighted. /abcnews.al
