Prime Minister Edi Rama, has been invited to the morning show on “ABC News” with Enkel Demi, to talk about quarantine and the measures that have been taken by the government.
During the conversation, it was also discussed about the case discovered in France with coronavirus since December, earlier than it was reported in the WHO by China.
While doctors based on radiographs have noticed that coronavirus has been in Albania since January and February, Rama stated these are questions only for scientists and that strict measures taken for the country are mandatory to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Prime Minister was asked if it is likely that the quarantine will last until the eve of the next elections, Rama said we will not have a normality like the one before 2019 until on development of a vaccine.
Edi Rama, among other things, stated in “Abc e e Mëngjesit” that there is no information about the quarantine of Albanian doctors who returned from Italy.
The doctors coming from Italy it was said that they will be quarantined in their homes, while for the citizens who come in Albania from other countries, they should be isolated in hotels for at least 14 days.
Asked about the differentiation on this cases, the head of government stressed out that he was not informed how this case was handled. However, Rama added that all doctors have done the test for COVID-19 and they resulted negative.
Prime Minister Rama in the conversation held on ABC News with journalist Enkel Demi also spoke about tourism. This is one of the sectors most affected by the coronavirus epidemic. Rama said that the government has not yet decided whether they should release the measures or if they should continue to follow the austerity measures.
To the journalist’s question if there will be tourism this summer, the prime minister stressed out that there is still no decision yet.
Regarding the decisions about the quarantine, the Prime Minister was asked who makes the decisions he stated that the decisions were taken by the Ministry of Health after being discussed with the Committee of Experts./abcnews.al
