Albanian government to increase salaries for policemen, security guards and firefighters

The government has decided to increase salaries for police officers, firefighters and some categories of public administration.

Rama said today after the government meeting that the salary increase for basic police employees will be 15 percent, while for those at the officer level, the increase will be 7 percent.

Rama said that there will be salary increases for the employees of the Republic Guard, prison policemen and the public administration.

“We have made the decision that the State Police, basic levels, police officers at the level of inspectors, as well as the middle level, have a salary increase of 15 and 7%, respectively. The same applies to the Guard of the Republic. The same applies to prison police, firefighters, public administration and not only civil servants, but all support workers. All these decisions take effect immediately.

On the other hand, the same thing will happen with the pensions, which have been re-indexed and we have a 9.5% increase compared to the pension of the previous year, and this will materialize in the next pensions. The same with all families in economic assistance that have a 10% increase, but where female heads of families with two children have doubling of economic assistance”, said Rama.
