Among hundreds of candidates who will run in the May 21 elections in Greece, there are also two Albanians.

Two Albanians who are representatives of different parties will participate in these elections, Antilian Koxhaj of the Syriza party, and Fatos Malaj of the PASOK party.

Malaj, in an interview given to “Tirana Live”, with the journalist Elisa Gjerani, stated that they are not in competition with each other, as they both compete in different areas and for the same common goal, which is the rights of immigrants.

Among the other things, he emphasized that it’s important for all the Albanians to vote for Koxhaj, because he will represent their rights for another party.

“The challenge is big and I know that guy, he is a prepared guy, he is not in my area and because he is part of another party, but it is important that Albanian immigrants vote for him.

In the first elections, I think he will not be able to create a government, so we will go to second elections.

PASOK, which I represent, has had as its main goal human rights and for immigrants, which is the only force that allows them to participate in the elections even if they do not have citizenship.

It is that force that in 2010 gave immigrants the opportunity to vote even without having citizenship.

It is that force that created in each municipality, created representatives for each municipality. In 2010, immigrants were given the right to move only with a certificate, the most favorable laws for immigrants were passed in the parliament”, said Malaj.
