Albania welcomes for the second time the “Defender Europe 2023” military exercise.During his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that today Albania is higher than ever in terms of international respect.
The head of the government said that the development of the exercise with the presence of American military troops and NATO countries is a privilege for the Armed Forces of the country.
This exercise, Rama added, shows once again that despite the language and the flag, we are bound by the same values and principles.
“Albania has the honor of hosting for the second time the largest military exercise in Europe and this is a special privilege for the Armed Forces of Albania that are hosts and participants of this exercise, which for the second time highlights the improvement continued development of our military capabilities, thanks to the invaluable support of our American allies and NATO countries.
Albania has never been higher in the level of international respect and today sitting at the Security Council table side by side with the USA as a co-sponsor on the issue of Ukraine, it takes on a profile and a role that not only burdens it with extraordinary responsibilities but also points out what progress and maturity our country has achieved.
The development of this exercise with the presence of multinational troops is at the same time an expression of the great unity and unwavering determination of the entire Euro-Atlantic community to protect the values and principles on which our societies are founded and function.
This exercise reminds us that regardless of the language we speak and the flag we represent, we are inextricably linked to those values and principles that are equally at stake for each of us and therefore we are all compelled by our history and future to function in unity complete,” said Rama.
Prime Minister added that with the operational base in Kuçova, our country is also a contributor to NATO. This, according to Rama, makes the country a reference point on the continent.
