Former Chief Prosecutor Adriatik Llalla has been arrested. ABC learns that Llalla was arrested in Rome, Italy, where for several months it is suspected that he was hiding from the Albanian Justice. Former Chief Prosecutor Adriatik Llalla was sentenced by the Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime to 2 years in prison and 5 years expulsion from public office. Llalla also had his assets confiscated from his activity.

Llalla was sentenced on charges of concealing property, abuse of office and money laundering, thus becoming the highest-ranking Albanian official to end up in prison. Earlier, through his defense lawyer, Llalla appealed the sentence, but the former chief prosecutor was declared internationally wanted.

SPAK closed the proceedings and sent his name to the Interpol office immediately after the police submitted the report for not finding him in the apartment or other places where he was thought to be.
