SPAK has closed the investigations and has brought to trial the vice president of FRPD Shkoder, Arvit Bushati, as well as three employees of this municipality, Ergys Ivziku, Petrit Dyli and Mhill Volaj, accused of buying votes for the May 14 elections.
As announced by SPAK, they are accused of active corruption in the elections. From the analysis of the evidence during the investigation, it was found that the defendants carried out concrete actions, which remained in the attempt phase, with the aim of donating material goods in exchange for voting for a certain political candidate, participating in the local elections of the month May 2023.
The three municipal employees were arrested after they were caught transporting 50 bags of food in a van to distribute to citizens for electoral benefits. In the search, Arvid Bushati was announced as the orderer of the food packages, with the position of Director of the Water Supply and Sewerage Directorate in this municipality.
