A 46-year-old member of a criminal group for heroin trafficking was arrested in Kavaja with the intention of extradition to Italy.
The Court of Catanzaro, Italy, in July 2023, assigned the security measure “Arrest in prison”, for the criminal offense “Participation in a criminal group, for the purpose of drug trafficking”, provided by the Italian Criminal Code.
The criminal group in which the 46-year-old Samuel Garuja participated is suspected to have trafficked to Italy, significant amounts of narcotics, mainly Heroin, during the period 2013-2018. Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome are cooperating to carry out the extradition of this citizen.
