A 49-year-old man was arrested by the police at the border point in Qafë Thane, after trying to smuggle oil into Albania. “Following the intensified work of the Border Police services, during the summer season, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the borders, in the Qafë Thane BCP, at the entrance of the RS, a second line was passed for detailed checks , the truck with the 49-year-old driver. In this vehicle, plastic drums filled with 500 liters of diesel were found, not accompanied by a purchase receipt.
At the end of the procedural actions for this case, the crime investigation specialists of DVKM Korçë made the arrest in flagrante delicto of the 49-year-old citizen, resident in Elbasan, for the criminal offense of “Smuggling goods for which excise duty is paid or with full or partial suspension from customs or excise duties”. The oil canisters were also seized as material evidence”, says the police announcement.
So the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Korça, for further actions.
