Manastirliu request to Italian minister to review travel restrictions for Albanians

The Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu met with the Italian counterpart Roberto Speranza today in Rome where they signed a 5-year cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Health to provide free treatment and prophylaxis for all hemophiliac children in Albania.

Manastirliu stated that he has asked Minister Speranza to re-evaluate the decision to restrict travel for Albanian citizens to Italy based on the epidemiological situation.

“I asked the minister to re-evaluate the decision based on the epidemiological situation for the trip of Albanians to Italy. It will be assessed where the decision according to periodicity based on the epidemiological situation. “What should be continued is vaccination as the only weapon to limit the spread of COVID”, declared Manastirliu.



She said that she thanked him for the support that Italy has given to Albania through the COVAX mechanism for the continuation of vaccination against COVID in our country.
