The head of the PR Fatmir Mediu said that together with a group of deputies they have submitted to the Assembly a draft resolution expressing concern about the situation in the Balkans, given the situation in Bosnia. He demanded that the resolution be approved by the ruling majority.

“We have thought of presenting a resolution in the Assembly, which we will discuss with all parties in order to reach a full resolution to unify an all-Albanian position in relation to the developments in the Balkans. It is a disturbing situation.

We need to consult with partners. The resolution states that “the Assembly is pursuing high-risk tensions for the resurgence of bloody conflicts related to Serbia.

Joining the EP’s concern that Republika Srpska secede from Bosnia, leading to the collapse of the 1995 Peace Accords, seeing Vucic’s narratives linked, the assembly decided; as a temporary member for the next two years at the UN to set goals for the region and Kosovo.

Increase support for Kosovo’s integration into international organizations. I hope and believe that we are not on the verge of war, but Albania must take preventive steps. “As a NATO member, we have to join NATO,” he said.

The Assembly of the Republic of Albania decided:

-To charge the government of the Republic of Albania in consultation with our strategic partners and to urgently address this issue in NATO.

-Through its delegations in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, to distribute this resolution in these assemblies and make it the subject of debate there, as well as the forums other inter-parliamentary.

-Urges the government, as an interim member of the UN Security Council for the next two years, to clearly set goals for the region and Kosovo.

-Increase support for Kosovo’s integration into the UN and other international organizations, explaining with new emphasis that leaving this new state out exposes it and the region easily to Russian-Serbian threats.

-To organize an inter-parliamentary forum Albania – Montenegro – Kosovo – Northern Macedonia, with the participation of all parliamentary political forces.
