The meeting of the Council of Legislation for the changes in the Constitution has begin. The meeting started with the consideration of the request of the Socialist Party for the extension of the mandates of the vetting bodies.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Alfred Rushaj, requested its postponement and consideration of the Democrats’ requests for changes in the Constitution on November 3, which was opposed by Klotilda Bushka.
The latter said that the DP wants to consider three different issues in one day, which is impossible. “The DP initiative requires more time for discussion, requires public consultations and various expertise,” said Bushka, while Rushaj replied that this approach shows that the majority does not want the DP in the meeting.
The DP has demanded the making of three important changes to the Constitution, which provide for the vetting of politicians; amending the Electoral Code and intervening in Territorial Reform. Democrats submitted their demands for changes to the Constitution on October 21st. /abcnews.al
