The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, during the hearing in the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs and Health, informed that the vaccination with the third dose has started today.
In her speech, Manastirliu confirmed that all measures have been taken for the start of the new school year, Manastirliu said that we have a 90% vaccination coverage in terms of teachers.
“The booster dose or the third dose has started for the age group +60 years and in parallel also for the medical staff. Since March 13, the vaccination of teachers and pedagogues has started. We have continued not only with vaccination at school but also with vaccination at universities. To date, 28,512 teachers have been vaccinated. “We have a good vaccine coverage in terms of vaccination with the first and second dose, over 90% of primary and secondary school teachers are vaccinated with one and two doses,” said the minister.
Among other things, in her speech, the Minister commented on the vaccination of young people, emphasizing that this age group has had the opportunity for vaccination since the last week of July.
“In terms of data regarding the age group 18 to 24 years, over 62 thousand individuals of this age group have been vaccinated with one dose. I want to emphasize that we have started the vaccination of the +18 age group in the last week of July where the open vaccination for all age groups has started and we have not stopped until today where we have an open vaccination. “While with two doses regarding vaccination 18-24, 42,152 young people have been vaccinated”, said Manastirliu.
She said that the vaccination of students on university premises since the beginning of the academic year has reached about 8 thousand students vaccinated with at least one dose.
A total of 1,909,861 doses of COVID19 vaccine have been administered since the start of vaccination. Of these, 891,707 citizens have received both doses of antiCOVID vaccine./abcnews.al
