The former member of the ‘Eagle’ forces, Nevaldo Hajdaraj, has appealed the decision of the Court of Tirana that sentenced him to 10 years in prison for the murder of Klodian Rasha in December 2020.
On July 14, the court sentenced Hajdaraj to 15 years in prison, but due to the shortened trial, he will only serve 10 years. While the prosecution requested that the former effective be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The sentence handed down by the court left the father of Klodian Rasha disappointed, who considered it an unfair decision for a macabre murder. Asked if he would pursue other legal avenues, Qazim Rasha said he no longer trusted Albanian justice.
Nevaldo Hajdaraj is accused that in the early hours of the morning of December 8 last year he killed Klodian Rasha with a service weapon, while the latter had broken the police clock. Hajdaraj claimed that he shot at the young man after he had seen a weapon in Rasha’s hands.
But referring to the footage of the security cameras, Rasha appeared running and was shot in the back, finding death. According to the prosecution, Hajdaraj had ascertained that Rasha did not have a weapon before opening fire on him./abcnews.al
