A record number of ballots were declared invalid in the elections of 25th April 2021. So far the CEC has counted almost 563,932 votes cast in 1894 ballot boxes across the country, but what stands out is the high number of ballots of invalid voting.
According to the current data of the CEC, 28,854 ballots have been declared invalid or more than 5.4% of the total cast in the ballot boxes, reports abcnews.al.
This figure is a record compared to the 2017 elections, in which 2 percent of ballots were found invalid.
Meanwhile, one of the main reasons is suspected to be the new ballot paper, where citizens had to be careful and choose the party and one of the party candidates./abcnews.al
