Albania imposes fresh restrictions to prevent a resurgence in the spread of the coronavirus, Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu said on Wednesday.
Country has seen a rise in cases over the past two weeks while on Tuesday was registered another record with 1239 new infections in 24-hours.

The ban of movement now starts at 20:00 instead of 22:00 that was before, meanwhile, the new restrictions will be in force from February 11 up to February 25.
This movement of the technical committee came following the record figures Albania has been registering recently: On Tuesday, 1239 new cases, as well as 16 deaths were recorded.

The Committee is following dynamically all epidemiological indicators, and from the impact that the measures have had before, it has decided:

– Prohibition of traffic for citizens from 20:00 in the evening – 6:00 in the morning, except for health emergencies and for work reasons (in this case permission is required through the application to e-Albania) for a period of 14 days, starting from Thursday, February 11 until February 25.

– Prohibition of activities of bars, restaurants, clubs, from 20:00 in the evening – 06:00 in the morning (except for the delivery service), starting from Thursday, 11 February until 25 February.

– Given the increase in cases of new infections in the age group 15-24 years, high schools will apply the third scenario, ie online in high-risk areas, which include the municipalities: Tirana, Fier, Vlora, Berat, Durres, Gjirokastra, Lezha, Lushnje, Pogradec and Kamza, for the period February 11 – February 26.

– The exam season for the university will be extended, to ensure the combination of online and auditor exams, for courses that require attendance, according to the assessment of MASR, strictly implementing the AntiCovid protocols,” the Minister highlighted./abcnews.al
