The seven members of the Constitutional Court have met today for the first time, to discuss the division of some issues as well as the appointment of the president.
Sources inform the journalist Glidona Daci that in today’s meeting will be discussed the issue of the Theater, the June 30 elections and the Electoral Code, deposited in the Constitution before its establishment.
Also on the meeting will attend the government’s lawsuit against President Ilir Meta, who refused to appoint Sander Lleshaj and Gent Cakaj to the post of Minister of Interior and Foreign Minister. However, this conflict has already been set aside by the parties, as both of the above-mentioned ministers have left these two ministries.
The members of the Constitutional Court are currently: Vitore Tusha, Elsa Toska, Marsida Xhaferllari, Fiona Papajorgji, Altin Binaj, Përparim Kalo and Sonila Bejtja.
The Constitutional Court consists of 9 members. Three members are appointed by the President of the Republic, three members are elected by the Assembly, both of these institutions performed their duties, while three members are elected by the Supreme Court, which has not yet been filled.
Judges of the Constitutional Court remain in office for 9 years, without the right to reappointment./abcnews.al
