Albanian doctors hold silent protest, begin the meeting with Minister of Health

Doctors and nurses held a one-hour silent protest Thursday at the Mother Teresa University Hospital (QSUT). As they have warned, they abandoned their work and stayed outside the Emergency Ward at QSUT of Tirana as a sign of protest for the realization of their demands.

Meanwhile, it is reported that in a meeting with doctors at the Prime Minister’s office are the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu, the director of QSUT Enkel Joti and a policy director at the Ministry.

Infectious Diseases Doctor at the Infectious Diseases Service Gent Stroni told abcnews.al that the request with 4 points had been made since August, but did not receive a response until the moment they announced the protest, while after that the Prime Minister reacted where he invited them to listen.

Requests of doctors and nurses:

-To declare martyrs of the nation all those members of the health personnel who lost their lives in this war with this invisible enemy

-To provide life insurance for health personel

-Estimated increase in the financial treatment of health personel

-Health personnel of all levels to be provided with all the optimal working conditions for the prevention of infection according to all national and international standards./abcnews.al
