Former Vollga hotel in Durres was seized on Friday by police. There is still no information from the authorities regarding the seizure of the business, but a press conference is expected from the Asset Management Agency to reveal details on this decision.
The ownership of the former Vollga Hotel was acquired through two acts of donations to Emiliano Shullazi, who is currently in prison, guilty for leading a criminal organisation and appropriating the properties of two citizens through threats.
By the sea and near the promenade “Taulantia”, the former Vollga hotel over the years turned into a coveted building and incited property conflicts due to its location.
Left at the mercy of fate because of its ownership history which is already a matter for the judiciary, the building had been turned into a shelter for refugees coming mainly from the Middle East to cross illegally towards Italy./abcnews.al
