Republic President Ilir Meta stated to the government to take stronger measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country, as any underestimation could have critical consequences.
Asked by reporters today, Meta said:
“I think that after the WHO’s declaration of a state of emergency globally, stronger sanitary and epidemiological measures must be taken to prevent this virus.
More than ever when two cases have been reported in Italy and possibly elsewhere near us.
I think it’s time for Albania to take stronger measures. Albania has successfully prevented SARS once, but it is safe to say that any underestimation can have critical consequences and I hope and encourage to take strong measures. ”
Asked if he is in touch with Health structures, the President said: “We are in the process of communicating with them and maybe the cases in Italy and elsewhere indicate that we are seriously in danger and should prevent this virus.”/abcnews.al
