The Criminal Court today issued security measures for the 30 detainees for the November 26 earthquake damage after listening to the prosecution and defense at the hearing session for 7 hours yesterday.
The court sentenced seven of them in jail, including former mayors Farka and Kashar, Fatbardh Plaku and Besnik Fuçia. While 12 of them were assigned “house arrest” security measures and 11 others were set free.
The 30 people were arrested due to the November 26 earthquake damage. These persons were charged with abuse of duty and falsification of documents.
The judge decided that some of the arrested were illegal, setting them free. The judge also requested more evidence in order that the prosecution continue their investigation.
According to Judge Vjollca Spahiu, the damages to the buildings due to the earthquake have come as a result of the constructions that have not respect the norms and standards provided by the designers and supervisors./abcnews.al
