The President of the Republic Ilir Meta received today in a meeting the Interfaith Council of Albania, to discuss the post-earthquake situation of November 26th, and not only the material but also the spiritual consequences of the citizens affected by this natural disaster.
President Meta thanked the Heads of Religious Communities for their immediate response reaching out to people in these difficult moments and appreciating their irreplaceable spiritual, moral, and psychological support.
“Your role for spiritual recovery, restoring hope, strengthening solidarity and courage in overcoming the most difficult times our people have been through is very precious,” President Meta underlined.
“The tragic situation and this severe humanitarian crisis for our entire society should serve as a moment not only for reflection but also for reconciliation to stand together in building a future with peace, hope and love, as a new beginning to restore the country, not only materially, but also spiritually and psychologically ”, – was the joint message of the Heads of Religious Communities at the meeting with the President of the Republic.
The Head of State requested that all cult objects damaged by the earthquake be verified and identified, in order to enable them as soon as possible and to return to the service of citizens and society./abcnews.al
