The Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, spoke at the Forum of Integrated Management of Water Resources, which was held in Albania.

She said that water management is one of the conditions of the European Union that it has imposed on Albania to become part of the European family.

“The prudence of our country’s requests and the prudence of the staff who are working with these requests have reached a level that is also appreciated by the European Union,” she said.

She assured that this project will be rigorously followed by Albania and will fulfill it according to the required standards. “I want to assure the partners that we will have the same commitment and all the staff will commit to the realization of this project and we will show prudence. Cooperation with the EU and other member countries is a key success to strengthen our sectors, especially a sector so important and vital, such as the water sector, including the protection of rivers and their efficient use”, said Balluku.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Albania’s biggest challenge is not the drafting of laws and projects, but their implementation on the ground, and for this reason she asked for assistance from the countries of the European Union. “We have good laws, but we are weak in their implementation on the ground. The perspective of water resource management is closely dependent on the success of this project’, she added./ abcnews.al
