The hearing session in the Special Appeal for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha is postponed again. The session would be held because Berisha has requested permission to go to the Assembly.

ABC News learns that the reason is the absence of prosecutors Arben Kraja and Enkeleida Minollai. We remind you that on March 12, the Special Court dismissed the other request of the lawyers of Berisha and his son-in-law Jamarber Malltezi for revocation of security measures.

According to the judging panel, the requests were found to be unfounded in law and evidence.SPAK is investigating Berisha with suspicions that he was involved in corruption in the privatization procedure of the former “Partizani” complex.

An accusation which has been denied by the former prime minister who considers the investigation against him to be political.

His son-in-law Jamarber Malltezi is also under house arrest for the same issue. The former prime minister has been isolated in his apartment since December 30, 2023 by decision of the GJKKO. The toughening of the measure against him by SPAK came as a result of the non-implementation of the court’s decision to appear before BKH agents.
