A 36-year-old man was arrested this Tuesday in Kamez area of Tirana after moving around with a firearm. Erind Mrruku, previously convicted of murder and possession of weapons without a permit, was detained for inspection, but a pistol with cartridges ready for firing, a comb and combat ammunition were found on him.
The police seized the firearm, ammunition, a holster for holding the pistol, a pair of binoculars, three cutting tools, three mobile devices and a scale for precious metals, which were found on the 36-year-old, during the physical search and during the search in the apartment.
However, 36-year-old Erind Mrruku, who was arrested this Tuesday in Kamez after walking around with firearms, was previously convicted of murder and possession of weapons without a permit.
In July 2010, Mrruku, then 23 years old, killed citizen Fabian Nika after a momentary conflict in Shengjin. At that time, Mrruku surrendered to the police a few hours after the crime committed, while the victim was the boyfriend of a well-known singer.
Police sources confirm that Mrruku is suspected of being a member of a criminal group operating in Tirana.
After being interrogated, he refused to give statements, but because the gun was loaded with cartridges ready to fire, the police suspect that he could use it in an event.
