The focus of today’s plenary session in the Assembly will be the discussion and voting of the draft law that provides for the increase in salaries for the public administration, including MPs and ministers.
The green light for the wage increase was given by the Economy Commission at Tuesday’s meeting. Journalist Esiona Konomi reported from the Assembly that according to the figures, MPs have a 97 percent salary increase, the largest that is obtained in this reforming segment of the government.
“There will be a block vote on several bills that enable the salary increase of all those who are paid by the state. As it is learned, both opposition groups, Basha, Alibeaj and Berisha, have decided to vote in favor of this draft law, not questioning its approval”, she said.
The Minister of Finance Delina Ibrahimaj emphasized that the fund for the salary increase will be obtained from the increase in income in the budget as well as from reallocations. In total, more than 130 thousand employees of the administration benefit, and the effect on the budget turns out to be about 39 billion ALL./abcnews.al
