British journalist Alice Taylor was the next guest on “FLASIM”, Prime Minister Edi Rama’s podcast.
Taylor, who has been living in Albania for five years, told an interesting story. She said that her connection with Albania started more than a century ago. The journalist said that it is about a person from her family tree, who was in Albania 150 years ago.
Alice showed that she has tried to vitalize the places in Albania where Edward Lear, who was a well-known writer, poet and painter from Great Britain, has been.
“My mother was researching our family tree and a step, step, step, I’m not sure, but a step uncle because at that time there were about 20 or so siblings, was Edward Lear, a very good painter and poet and writer who has traveled widely in Albania, painted, wrote.
I’ve actually tried to track down some of the places he’s been and painted, and I’ve tried to get a picture in as close to the same place as I could. It’s not the reason why I came here, I wasn’t trying to be like him, but when I learned this I said, ‘Hey, maybe there’s a connection between the generations here,'” she said.
