New details have come to light this Wednesday regarding the arrest of RENEA operative Altin Morina, who yesterday was caught in his car with 113,000 EUR, 290,000 new ALL and 80 GBP.
Morina is suspected of being involved in the trafficking of heroin and cocaine, with criminal groups in Tirana, Shkodra and Elbasan. Also, it is suspected that Morina has a relationship with Kreshnik Halilaj, who was arrested earlier for having an arsenal of weapons and drugs.
In this case, the officer allegedly hid evidence by saying that the cocaine found in Halilaj’s house was not cocaine, but bread flour. This is not the first case where state police officers associate with incriminated persons.
Earlier on, Jeton Lami was arrested for abuse of office, on the charge of accompanying the much-wanted Ervis Martinaj, who has been missing since August of last year.
Officially, the police say that Renea’s police officer was arrested for three criminal offenses: money laundering, concealment of income and abuse of office.
At noon on Tuesday, Morina was caught driving alone in an Audi vehicle in the area known as Kodra e Diellit.
